Restoration of full pulsatility in the main vein 'shoves' the valve cusp wide open and thus expels the thrombus-mass towards the Pulmonary Artery with probably fatal results, as when a venous pulse is generated either when a patient walks off a plane after a long-haul flight (see Singapore Airlines Dec 24th 2000) or when a postoperative patient visits the toilet for the first time 1 - 2 weeks after a surgical procedure.
